ACA Health Insurance Open Enrollment FAQ
Does it cost more to enroll through an agent?
No. Plan prices are the same whether you enroll on your own or with a licensed agent. Larry's help is available at no additional cost to you.
What is HealthSherpa?
HealthSherpa is an approved enhanced direct enrollment partner that lets you shop and enroll in the same ACA Marketplace plans and savings available through HealthCare.gov, using a simpler online experience.
What if I miss Open Enrollment?
Outside Open Enrollment, you can generally only enroll if you have a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, getting married, or having a baby. Call Larry to see if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
I already have a Marketplace plan. Do I need to do anything?
Yes, it's a good idea to review your plan every year. Premiums, networks, and your savings can change, and a different plan may be a better fit for 2027.
Can I keep my doctor?
Many plans let you search by provider. When comparing plans, check each plan's network for your doctors and hospitals, or call Larry for help confirming.
Which states can Larry help me enroll in?
Larry Hamilton is licensed to help you enroll in ACA Marketplace health insurance in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Enrollment is available by phone or online.
Can I get affordable health insurance if I'm self-employed or my job doesn't offer it?
Yes. Marketplace (Obamacare) plans are open to individuals and families who buy their own coverage, and many people qualify for premium tax credits based on household income and size.
